Late nights. No sleep. But all worth it when we come together as a crew in preparation for the biggest comp in Australia. After 12 years together it feels just like yesterday that we used to rehearse in James’ tiny flat in the lounge room with no mirrors…but hey, gotta start somewhere! Now over a decade on the stage we can’t wait to be part of tomorrow’s 2012 AHC Melbourne preliminary round at MSAC. Come and support our crew as we do what we love, letting nothing stand in the way! Here for the love of dance and friendship and to entertain you with our new show! Hope to see you there – come and say hi! =)
A very special thanks to Sergeant Grant Churchin from the Mulwala Police Station for giving Rewind a fantastic opportunity to teach and perform to the kids of Yarrawonga and Mulwala. We were so honored to be a good influence on the kids – teaching the next generation!
Mulwala Public School
– The children and teachers of Mulwala Public School thoroughly enjoyed the dance teaching experience. We would love to attend another of their workshops if they return next year. They seemed very enthusiastic and related to the children well. It was also suited for all age groups which was great! Thanks for getting us involved for the day! –
Sacred Heart College
– The Rewind Dance Crew was an amazing experience for both myself and the students. My students have already asked when the next workshop will be in Yarrawonga and have also got onto me about taking a select group of students to Melbourne to participate in one of their workshops there.
My students were very inspired and we now have a boy starting dance classes in 2012 which is very exciting and will hopefully encourage more boys to get invloved! –
Sacred Heart Primary School
– The students AND teachers certainly enjoyed the mini concert. Rewind was very entertaining and the students enjoyed the involvement. I would have no hesitation in welcoming the Rewind group back as they were entertaining, talented and wonderful role models to our students as to using their skills to the best of their ability and then being able to share this with others. –
Just a little heartfelt feedback from the schools that we shared our passion with. Hopefully we get the opportunity to do this again in 2012!
Till next time! xx
We were so excited to introduce world-renowned choreographer Mr Jun Quemado to some new Aussie friends during his first visit down under! Thank you to UEG for brining such talent down to judge AHC2011. We drove a couple of hours through Victoria’s countryside in order to give Jun a chance to jump with the roo’s and meet the koalas and other animals native to Australia. It was so much fun being at the wildlife park as it reminded us of childhood days visiting the zoo with school mates. The weather was sunny and beautiful and we met lots of furry friends and extremely friendly staff at the venue. A pit stop at the highway service station saw us eating Gaytimes and pies. We hope you enjoyed your stay with us Jun and below are just a few photos from the day. Thanks for gracing us with your talent at AHC! Hope to see you soon! Love Rewind xo
Where it all began…
– December 16th 2011 –
Invited by Yarrawonga’s Police Department to perform at their monthly Blue Light Disco, Rewind drove 3 hours, wore our kicks and sported red Rewind tees – Yarrawonga never knew what hit them!
Organised by the EVER COOL Sergeant Grant Churchin, from Yarrawonga’s Police Department, we separated into two groups and taught the kids from Mulwala Primary School and Sacred Heart High School and Primary School. A very big thanks to the sponsorship of the three local clubs, The Mulwala Ski Club, Club Mulwala and the Yarrawonga Golf Club Resort for their wonderful hospitality and generosity. It was such a great response from the kids who showed so much excitement to learn from us – we’re so grateful to be able to have been given the opportunity to influence the next generation!
